The White Pelican is one of the largest birds in North America, with a wingspan of 9½ feet.
It feeds while swimming, dipping its bill into the water to catch fish in its pouch. White Pelicans are found inland, at lakes and marshes. (The one you see at the ocean is the Brown Pelican.)
Pelicans fly together, high up, in a ‘V’ formation.  They can glide for long distances, using slow, powerful flapping of their wings.

Nesting: Nests are a small depression on bare ground or a mound  formed of earth, brush and debris.
