Opposums are also called Possums. How is a Possum like a Kangaroo? They both carry their babies in a pouch. Mammals that have a pouch are called marsupials, and most of them are in Australia. The Possum is the only one we have in North America.

Possums are the real "cleanup guys" of the forests and suburbs. They come out at night and eat a lot of rodents, rotting fruit, cockroaches and beetles, so some people are happy to have them around. A lot of them are killed by dogs and run over by cars.
