     This butterfly has a broad yellow band on each wing, with blue marks and orange “eye spots” on its hind wings. It gets its name from the “tails” on its wings that look like the forked tail of a Barn Swallow in flight. When it is a black and yellow caterpillar, it eats the leaves of the Anise plant.

     Did you know that butterflies have legs that bend in five places? Their feet have tiny spurs that help them hold on to a flower while drinking nectar.
