Steller’s Jay Cyanocitta stelleri |
The Steller’s Jay lives only in the western United States. It is related to the Blue Jay, which lives only in the eastern United States. Both birds have a crest on their head. Jays can imitate the sounds of other birds, especially hawks. Steller’s Jays are usually shy birds, hiding in the tree tops so they won’t get eaten by hawks. But at campgrounds and parks they become quite used to people. |
