     Everyone knows this sunny yellow-orange flower. It’s the State Flower of California, and it is protected by law. We should leave it growing on the hillsides where we find it, so it can decorate the land for all of us.
     The poppy that grows in coastal areas looks different from the ones that grow inland. The coastal flowers have more yellow on the petals, and the leaves are lighter.
