Leopard Sharks come into tidal sloughs of the California Coast during the spring. That is when the babies, called pups, are born. Leopard Sharks get their name from their mottled, spotted markings. They cruise in schools with other species of sharks. (A school is a group of any fish). As they move over the shallow sloughs, they search the bottom for crabs, shrimp, worms, fish and fish eggs. They can grow to be seven feet long, but most of them are about four feet long.
