Harbor Seals like the calm water of harbors and bays better than rocky beaches. You can see that they have the perfect shape for hunting underwater. Seals are the favorite food of sharks and killer whales.

Like all seals, Harbor Seals have an outer coat of fur and a thicker coat under that, to keep them waterproof. Then, to keep warm, they also have a layer of fat called “blubber” that is 2 inches thick.
