Rockfish come in more than 100 species, in many shapes and sizes, and different patterns of bright colors. They have heavy spines on their fins, large eyes and thick, broad mouths that dip downward at the corners. Rockfish are eaten by other rockfishes, sea lions, harbor seals and humans. Rockfish are found everywhere from coastal shallow waters to the deep sea floor. They eat plankton, small crustaceans and fishes.
