Photo ©Patricia McQuade	At the end of the rainy months of January and February, Wild Cucumber grows fast and aggressively. It climbs over wood piles and low bushes, and up the trunks of trees. The plant’s tendrils are very strong, helping the vine hang onto a tree as it climbs toward the sun. Though the cucumber-like seed pods look like they are edible, they aren’t. These pods take all summer to ripen enough for the seed to come out.
