All kinds of animals think the Brush Rabbit is delicious food: coyotes, foxes, hawks and owls, even gopher snakes. It doesn’t live in a burrow like most rabbits. Instead it lives in thick bushes like Willow and Blackberry.

Brush Rabbits are herbivores (they eat plants). When it is eating, the Brush Rabbit stays close to thick bushes so it can quickly escape predators. If the mother has to leave her babies alone in the nest, she pulls up some grass and covers the babies to hide them.
